He was an accountant prior to his military service.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Second Lieutenant (CEF). He served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. (Transferred to RNAS 1918) He was apppointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS 1918.

Anecdotes
He was taken ill with the Spanish influenza while in primary flight training at Cranwell and was hospitalized back to Canada. The former accountant passed away in his home town.
