Biography
He was elected as MP for Marlow in 1774. He succeeded to the Baronetcy in 1775. He received an MA from Cambridge University in 1776.

He attended Cambridge University at the time of entering the Royal Navy. He deserted in 1772 but was later reinstated. He entered the Royal Navy as an AB in H.M.S. Marlborough 1771.
