He attended McGill University.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (COTC McGill University). (Transferred to RCNVR 27/09/1944) He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR (With seniority dated 27/09/1944). In 1944 he served in HMCS Montcalm. (CFR) He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR 1944. In 1944 he served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment). He served in HMCS Cornwallis on Executive Officers' Course 1944. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 26/11/1944). In 1945 he served in HMCS Avalon. (He was demobilized.)
