Biography
He was a school principal in Medecine Hat AB before his naval service.

He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS. He was apppointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS. He served in 10 (RNAS) Squadron.

Anecdotes
Three Sopwith Triplanes of 10 (RNAS) Squadron engaged five German scouts and he was shot down. He died shortly after being taken prisoner-of-war. The body of the former Alberta school principal was never found
