Biography
He was the brother of Captain J.J. Whiteley and father of Albert Whiteley. He came to the Pacific coast and joined the schooner Labrador. He brought the Mermaid around to the Pacific coast. (He was qualified as a Master Mariner.) He was appointed as a British Columbia Marine Pilot.
