Biography
After his naval service he was the Assistant Head Master at St. Michael's University School in Victoria BC.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Telegrapher RNVR 1940. He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c RNVR (With seniority dated 12/08/1940. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #26 Pilot Training Course, #14 Elementary Flying Training School, #31 Service Flying Training School. He served in USNAS Pensacola for Flying Training Course. (CFR) He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR 1942. He served in 776 RN Squadron 1942. He served in H.M.S. Formidable for 828 RN Squadron 1944. He served in H.M.S. Implacable for 828 RN Squadron 1943. He served in RNAS Australia for 1771 RN Squadron 1945, (Transferred to RCN 1953). He was appointed as a Instructor Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 10/08/1951). He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) 1954. He was the winner of the Barry German Naval History Prize for 1955. He was appointed as an Instructor Lieutenant-Commander RCN. He served in HMCS Naden for Preparatory School 1959.He was appointed as a Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1964). He served in NDHQ on Staff of Directorate of Training Requirements Aids and Methods 1964. He was seconded to Transport Canada for Planning Project for Canadian Coast Guard College 1964-67. He served in CFB Esquimalt as Officer-in-Command of Preparatory School 1967-70. He served in CFB St. Jean as Commandant Language School 1970-71. (He was retired 01/07/1972.)
