Biography
He was a Printer's Apprentice and Telephone Operator at the time of his recruitment into the RNCVR. Before enlisting in the RCNR for the Second World War he was an employee of the Ottawa post office.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman RNCVR 1917. He was invalided out after approximately six months after having contracted Scarlet Fever. He re-enlisted a month later on 16 Jul 1917. He served in HMCS Givenchy. He was demobilized on June 23, 1919. (He was demobilized). He was appointed as a Mate RCNR (With seniority dated 24/06/1940). In 1940 he served in HMCS Stadacona. In 1940 he served in HMCS Protector. In 1941 he served in HMCS Venture as Additional. In 1941 he served in HMCS Hochelaga II as Mate. In 1941 he served in HMCS Galt as Mate. In 1941 he served in HMCS Calgary as Mate. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (RCNR). He served in HMCS Louisburg 1943. (He was killed In in HMCS Louisburg 06/02/1943 near Cape Tenes, Algeria when convoy KMF-8 (Gibraltar to Bone) was attacked by 2 separate formations of German planes and the ship was hit by bombs and torpedoes and sank.)
