Biography
He was living in London ON at the time of his recruitment into the navy. He was qualified as a lawyer. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Business Administration and earned a law degree from the University of British Columbia. For 40 years he specialized in municipal law representing local governments throughout BC. He started his law practice in White Rock and lived and worked across the province including stops in Prince George, Kelowna and Victoria. He contributed significantly to the orderly development of many of BC's interior and Vancouver Island communities. He achieved many "firsts" including incorporating the towns of Houston, Mackenzie, Tumbler Ridge and the District of Metchosin. He chaired the Municipal Section of the Canadian Bar Association and was appointed as a Queen's Counsel. He made a run for the legislature in 1972 as a Progressive Conservative.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 09/02/1949). He served in HMCS Prevost for UNTD 1948-1951. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1951). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He served in HMCS Discovery. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1955).. (He was released.)
