He attended McGill University.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (COTC McGill University). (Transferred to RCNVR 31/05/1943) He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) (With seniority dated 07/05/1943). In 1943 he served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training. (CFR) He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 16/12/1943).In 1943 he served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 25/06/1944). In 1944 he served in HMCS Hunter. In 1944 he served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment). In 1945 he served in HMCS Prestonian. (He was demobilized.)
