Biography
After his naval service he joined Conair for Budworm Spray Project in New Brunswick and Firebombing in BC.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet COTC (UBC) (With seniority dated 01/09/1941). (Transferred to RCAF 1943. He served in RCAF Virden for Elementary Flying Training 1943. He served in RCAF Gimli for Service Flying Training 1943. (CFR). He was appointed as a Pilot Officer RCAF 01/11/1944, (Transferred to RNVR 01/04/1945). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (A) RNVR 01/04/1945, (Transferred to RCNVR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR 03/05/1945. He served in H.M.S. Dipper for Flying Training 1946. He served in H.M.S. Merganser for Flying Training 1946, (Transferred to RCN with Short Service Appointment commencing 30/04/1947). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 03/05/1946). He served in H.M.S. Fulmar for Deck landing Training 1946. He served in H.M.S. Theseus for Deck Landing Qualification 1946. He served in H.M.S. Gadwit for Instrument Course 1946. He served in H.M.S. Gadwit for 794 RN Squadron 1946. He served in H.M.S. Implacable for 794 RN Squadron 1947. He served in HMCS Stadacona for RCN Barracks Halifax for RCN Air Section (Dartmouth) for 18th Carrier Air Group as Pilot in 826 Squadron 1948. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Divisional Course 1948, (Selected for permanent commission). He served in HMCS Swansea for Watchkeeping Certificate 1948, RN for Long Photographic Course 1949, RN for Air Photographic Interpretation Courses 1949, Canadian Joint Air Training Centre Rivers MB as Air Photo Interpretation Instructor and as Officer Commanding RCAF Tactical Fighter Flight 1950. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Junior Officer Technical and Leadership Courses 1952. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Station Maintenance Test Pilot 1954. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (P) RCN 03/05/1954. He served in HMCS Niobe as Member of the RCN Technical Team for HMCS Bonaventure Project at Belfast Northern Ireland 1954. He served in HMCS Algonquin for Watchkeeping 1956. He served in HMCS Bonaventure for VS-880 Squadron as Senior Pilot 1959. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Officer-in-Charge of the Aircrew Division 1960. He served in HMCS Bonaventure/HMCS Shearwater for VS-880 Squadron as Senior Pilot 1962, Bell Helicopter Flight 1964. He served in HMCS Discovery as Naval Career Counsellor 1964. (He was retired 01/07/1968.
