He was an Ammunition Inspector at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Fourth Class Wireless Telegraph Operator RNCVR (With seniority dated 27/05/1917). In 1917-1918 he served in HMCS Cartier (Auxiliary Patrol Ship) as Wireless Telegraph Operator. (He was demobilized.)
