Military Service

He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 20/01/1939). (Mobilized for World War Two service 07/09/1939). In 1940 he served in HMCS Joan W II. He was appointed as a Skipper Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 01/07/1941). In 1940 he served in HMCS Joan W II (In command). In 1941 he served in HMCS Leelo (In command). In 1942 he served in HMCS San Tomas (In command). He served in HMCS Chatham for HMCS Ripple II (In command) 1942. He was appointed as a Chief Skipper (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR 1943 (With seniority dated 01/07/1941). In 1944 he served in HMCS Givenchy. (He was demobilized 06/06/1944 as medically unfit.)
