Biography
In 1817 he settled near York (Toronto) Upper Canada. In 1827 he married Augusta Melissa Jackson. In 1831 he was appointed by Sir Francis Bond Head to Upper Canada's Executive Council. He held that position until the Union of the Canadas in 1841. His brother, Dr. William Warren Baldwin owned the estate known as Spadina in wat is now Toronto ON.
 
Military Service
He entered the Royal Navy in 1794. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RN. He was appointed as a Commander RN and then to Captain RN. He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral RN. (He was retired in 1846.)
