Military Service

He was appointed as a Coxswain RCNR (Fishermen's Reserve Section) (With seniority dated 05/08/1942). He served in HMCS Barclay Sound as Mate 1943-1944. He was appointed as a Skipper RCNR (Fishermen's Reserve Section) 1942. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 10/02/1944). In 1944 he served in HMCS Ehkoli. (He was demobilized.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R). He served in HMCS Rockcliffe 1947. (He may have been one of the two last remaining serving Fishermen's Reserve officers on active service.)
