Biography
After his naval service he worked as a lawyer in 1955. He served as the Assistant Crown Attorney for Hamilton. He was appointed as a Judge of the Ontario Court of Justice (Provincial Division). He was the father of RADM Jennifer Jane Bennett, Chief, Cadets & Reserves.

He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 04/11/1947). (He was discharged 1948 and re-enrolled 1948) He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 13/10/1948). He served in HMCS Star for UNTD 1947. He served in HMCS Swansea for Training 1948. He served in HMCS Magnificent for Training 1949. He served in HMCS Huron for Training 1950. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1951). He served in HMC ML-106. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1953). He served in HMCS Patriot 1953. He served in the Intelligence and Security Course RCMP School Ottawa 1954. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SB) (Legal) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 22/02/1957). He was appointed as a Captain (NR) (With seniority dated 01/01/1971). He served in CFB Hamilton as Commander Canadian Forces Reserve Barracks Hamilton 1969. He was appointed as a Commodore (NR) (With seniority dated 01/01/1974). He served in NDHQ as Senior Naval Reserve Advisor to the Chief of the Defence Staff 1974-77.
