He was appointed as a Skipper (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR 1941. He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 31/12/1941). He served in HMCS Givenchy (II) for HMCS Western Maid (In command) 1942. He was appointed as a Boatswain (Temp.) RCNVR. He served in HMCS Givenchy for HMCS Talapus (In command) 1944. (He was demobilized.)
