Biography
Retiring in 1967 he ran a small beekeeping business and was active in the community of Round Hill Nova Scotia for many years. He was an active member and former warden of St. Paul’s Church in Round Hill NS, a Trustee of Sackville Naval Memorial Trust and a member of the Naval Officers Association of Canada.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RCN (With seniority dated 02/09/1932). He served in H.M.S. Erebus (RCN Special Entry No. 32) 1932. He was appointed as a Midshipman (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1934). He served in Royal Naval Engineering College Keyham 1934. He was appointed as a A/Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1936). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN 1937. In 1937 he served in HMS Orion. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1938). He served in H.M.S. Orion 1938. He served in HMCS Ottawa 1940. He served in HMCS Avalon 1942. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1945). He served in HMCS Uganda as Engineering Officer 1945. He served in Royal Roads 1946. He served in NHQ with Director of Engineering Constructor Shipwright and Ordnance Personnel 1948. He was appointed as a Commander (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1949). He served in NHQ as Director of Engineering Constructor and Shipwright Personnel on Staff of Chief of Naval Personnel 1949.
