He served as Chief of Staff and Maintenance Captain to Commander-in-Chief Portsmouth 1930-32. He served as Chief of Staff to the Commander-in-Chief America and West Indies Station 1932-33. He served as First Naval Member New Zealand Naval Board. He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral RN. He served as Commander New Zealand Station 1935-8. He was appointed as a AdC to HM King George VI 1936. He was appointed as a Vice-Admiral RN. He served as Flag Officer In Command Portland Naval Base. He served as Chief of Staff Rosyth. (He was released.)
