Biography
Before his naval service he was a Ship's Surgeon on board the RMS Empress of Canada 1939-1940.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant RCNVR (Temp.) (With seniority dated 29/01/1940) (Later backdated to 1939). He was appointed as an A/Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCNVR. (Transferred to RCN 1942). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/06/1942). He served in HMCS Naden 1942. He served in HMCS Cornwallis. He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1945). He served in the RCN Barracks Esquimalt 1946. He was appointed as a Surgeon Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1950). He served as Assistant Medical Director-General 1950. He served in the USN Hospital Philadelphia 1952. He served in HMCS Stadacona for RCN Hospital Halifax as Principal Medical Officer and Ophtalmologist 1954. He served in HMCS Magnificent as Principal Medical Officer 1956. He served in HMCS Bonaventure as Principal Medical Officer 1957. He served in HMCS Naden on Staff of Flag Officer Pacific Coast as Command Medical Officer and at RCN Hospital Esquimalt as Principal Medical Officer and Opthalmologist 1958. He was appointed as a Surgeon Captain RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1959). He served in NDHQ as Assistant Surgeon General (Professional) at National Defence Medical Centre (Ottawa) and Deputy Surgeon General 1960. He was appointed as a Surgeon Commodore RCN (With seniority dated 01/04/1961). He served in NDHQ as Deputy Surgeon General (Personnel and Treatment Services) 1961. He was appointed as a Surgeon Rear-Admiral RCN (With seniority dated 30/09/1964). He was appointed as a Queen's Honorary Physician 1964. He served in NDHQ as Surgeon General 1964. (He was retired.)
