Military Service
(Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 12/09/1954). He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) for Training 1954. He was appointed as a Midshipman (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1956). (Selected for permanent commission). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1957). He served in H.M.S. Thunderer (RN Engineering College) for Basic Engineering Course 1957. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1958). He served in HMCS St. Croix as Engineer Officer under Training 1959. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 21/11/1960). He served in the RN Engineering College for Maritime Engineering Sub-Specialty Course 1960. On completion of RNEC in 1960-1961, he served in HMCS Huron in 1961-1962 and HMCS Bonaventure in 1962-1964 He served in HMCS Stadacona for Fleet School as Administration Officer Engineering Division 1964. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Fleet School as Training Officer. He served in HMCS Saguenay as Engineer Officer 1967. He served with the US at the Naval Shipyard Portsmouth VA in Ship Repair Division as Ship Superintendent 1968. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (MARE) (With seniority dated 01/06/1969). He served in CFB Halifax for Ship Repair Unit (Atlantic) in Ship Repair Branch as Production Operations Officer 1970. He served in CFB Toronto for Canadian Forces Staff College 1973. He was appointed as a Commander (MARE) (With seniority dated 01/01/1974). He served in #2 Canadian Forces Technical Services Agency Montreal PQ as #201 CFTSD Detachment Commander at Vickers Shipyard, Montreal for period 1974-1977.
