He was a commercial fisherman in BC before World War Two.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 19/12/1941). He served in HMCS Chatham for HMCS Chamiss Bay (In command) 1942. (He was demobilized.)
