Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RN (With seniority dated 24/09/1869). He was appointed as a Midshipman RN (With seniority dated 21/06/1871). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RN (With seniority dated 20/12/1875). He served in the Royal Yacht Victoria and Albert as Additional 1877. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RN (With seniority dated 05/09/1877). He served in H.M.S. Vernon for Torpedo Qualification Course (Failed to Qualify) 1879-81. He served in H.M.S.
