He was appointed as a Monsignor in the Roman Catholic Church.

He served in HMCS Stadacona as Inter-Service Command Chaplain (RC) Halifax 1960. He was appointed as a Chaplain Class IV (RC) RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1961). He was appointed as a Chaplain Class V (RC) RCN (With seniority dated 27/05/1965). He was appointed as Deputy Chaplain General of the Armed Forces (RC) 1965. (He was released 1975.)
