Biography
He attended medical school at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1916. He interned at the Royal Muskoka Hospital, Gravenhurst ON.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant (Temp.) RN (With seniority dated 24/09/1917). He served in Royal Naval Hospital Portsmouth UK 1917. He served in H.M.S. Daffodil (mine clearance vessel) as Medical Officer. He served in H.M.S. Malaya as Medical Officer 1919. He served in H.M.S. Argus as Medical Officer. He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 24/03/1924). He served in HMCS Stadacona as Fleet Medical Officer 1923. (Appointment Terminated 1924). (Transferred to RCNVR 1924). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCNVR (With seniority dated 18/03/1924). He served in the Toronto Company RCNVR 1924. He was appointed as a Surgeon Commander RCNVR (With seniority dated 15/12/1932). He was appointed as an AdC. (Mobilized for World War Two Service 03/09/1939). He served in RCN Barracks Halifax as Principal Medical Officer 1939. He served in NSHQ in Naval Personnel Division as Staff Medical Officer 1940. He was appointed as an A/Surgeon Captain (Temp.) RCNVR). He served in NHQ as Medical Director-General 1941. He was appointed as a Surgeon Captain RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/07/1942). (Transferred to RCN26/10/1944) . He was appointed as a Surgeon Captain RCN (With seniority dated 26/10/1944). He was appointed as a Surgeon Commodore RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1951). (He was retired 03/01/1952.)
