He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 12/09/1941). He served in HMCS Givenchy (II) for HMCS Spray (in command) 1943. He was appointed as a Skipper RCNR (With seniority dated 05/10/1943). In 1944 he served in HMCS Chatham. (He was demobilized.)
