Biography
He was the brother of Angus Neish. started in the fishing industry at the age of sixteen on the Baleares for Peter Ambrose. He worked as a commercial fisherman in BC as well as a union organizer. He continued fishing after the war and worked as a union organizer for the United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union.

He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 20/01/1939. He served in HMCS Van Isle (In command) 1939. He was appointed as a Skipper Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 01/07/1941). He served in HMCS Chatham for HMCS Nenamook (In command) 1941-1944.
