Biography
He was the President of Culverwell Holdings Ltd., Lindwood Holdings Ltd., Oland Investments Ltd. and Seahorse Investments Ltd. He was the Honorary Consul General for Japan in Nova Scotia. He was a Director of the RCN Benevolent Fund. He was a Governor of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires NS Division and a Director of the Last Post Fund. (He was a tireless advocate for the naval reserve divisions across Canada.)

He was appointed as a Major Royal Canadian Artillery (seniority 1950). He served in 1st Halifax Coast Regiment - 53rd Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery as Commanding Officer 1950. (Transferred to RCNR 1951). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 12/04/1951). He served in HMCS Scotian 1951. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 12/04/1951). He served in HMCS Scotian 1951. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN(R) 1959. He was appointed as a Commander RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/01/1962). He was the Commanding Officer HMCS Scotian 1963. He was appointed as a Captain RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/01/1966).
