He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 29/12/1942). (Transferred to the RCNVR). He was appointed as a Boatswain (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 10/02/1944). He served in HMCS Western Maid. (He was demobilized.)
