In 1919 it has been reported by Major F.V. Longstaff that after his naval service he settled in Victoria BC Canada (this can not yet be confirmed.)
Military Service
He was commissioned as a Lieutenant RN (With seniority dated 30/06/1885). In 1885 he served in HMS Cormorant on the Pacific Station. For his services in Benin, he was specially promoted to the rank of Commander RN (With seniority dated 25/05/1897). He was appointed as a Captain RN (With seniority dated 31/12/1903). He served in HMS Agamemnon (In command) 1910. In 1911 he was appointed Inspecting Captain of Boys' Training Ships. In 1913 he served in HMS Impregnable as Commodore (Second Class) RN "in Charge of Boys' Training Service." In 1913 he was given command of the Tenth Cruiser Squadron. He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral RN (With seniority dated 10/02/1914). He was appointed as a Vice-Admiral RN (With seniority date 09/01/1919). He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 24 January, 1920. He was promoted to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 03/03/1924.
