He was appointed as a Coxswain (Fishermen's Reserve Section) RCNR (With seniority dated 29/12/1941). He served in HMCS Givenchy (II) for HMCS Seiner (In command) 1942, (Transferred to RCNVR). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 10/02/1944). He served in HMCS Seiner. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 10/02/1945). (He was demobilized.)
