He worked with Westinghouse Canada and Counsellor (Defence Programs) at the Canadian Embassy (Washington DC) after retirement.

He served in SS Beaton Park as DEMS Gunner. He served in the SS Dunlop Park as DEMS Gunner. He was appointed as a Leading Seaman Gunlayer RCNVR, He served in the MV Rio Branco (Norwegian Merchant Navy) as DEMS Gunner, (Transferred to RCN 10/12/1945).
