Biography
After his naval service he worked with the Federal Department of the Environment and Department of Fisheries and Oceans in their respective Ship Branches 1973-89. Retired secondly on 01/01/1990.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Private in the Canadian Army (Active) in 1944. (He was demobilized 1945), (Transferred to RCN 1945). He served in H.M.S. Victory II For Pre-Upper Yardmen's Courses 1949. (CFR. He served in the Royal Navy Upper Yardmen's College H.M.S. Hawke) 1951. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1951). He served in H.M.S. Welcome For Small Ship Training 1951. He served in HMCS Niobe For Royal Naval College Greenwich For Junior Officer's War Course 1951. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/51). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant's Technical Courses 1952. He served in HMCS Portage 1953. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 16/01/1953). He served in HMCS Bytown For NHQ With Director Naval Information 1954. He served in HMCS Niobe For H.M.S. Dolphin for Submarine Training 1955. He served in HM Submarine Artful as Weapons Officer 1955, HM Submarine Artful as Executive Officer 1955. He served in H.M.S. Adamant as Spare Crew Commanding Officer and Staff Officer Operations II 1959. He served in HMCS Assiniboine 1960. He served in HMCS Antigonish as Executive Officer 1960. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 16/01/1961). He served in H.M.S. Dolphin as Submarine Spare Crew Commanding Officer 1961. He served in HM Submarine Trenchant (In temporary command) and Commanding Officer Designate HM Submarine Rorqual 1961. He served in HM Submarine Rorqual (In command) 1961. He served in the Defence Research Establishment as Naval Liaison Officer 1967. He served in HMCS Onondaga (In temporary command on Loan from Canadian Forces Maritime Warfare School) 1969. He served in Canadian Forces Maritime Warfare School 1969. He served in CFHQ Seconded to the Department of Environment as Program Manager For Submersible Pisces IV 1972. (He was retired on 01/08/1973. (He was qualified to command a submarine and a major surface warship (destroyer))
