Biography
In civilian life he was an educator with the Lakehead Catholic School Board. He is currently the Principal at St. Patrick High School. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Council of Catholic Principals of Ontario and holds membership in a variety of other educational organizations both locally and provincially. In 2007 after his naval service he was appointed as a Justice of the Peace.

He was appointed as a Ordinary Seaman RCNR (With seniority dated 12/04/1965). He served in HMCS Griffon for training 1965. He was appointed as a Leading Seaman 1969. (CFR) He was appointed as a A/Sub-Lieutenant (With seniority dated 1970). He served in HMCS Griffon. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (N) (With seniority dated 1972). He served in HMC Ships Fundy, Chignecto, Cowichan and Miramichi for training 1972-1975. He served in HMCS Saskatchewan for Bridge Watchkeeping training 1976. He served in HMCS Griffon as Training Officer 1976. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (With seniority dated 1979). He served in Minor warship commands at sea, HMC Ships Porte De La Reine, Porte Dauphine, Porte Québec, Porte St Jean, Porte St Louis and Fort Steele. He served in HMCS Griffon as Executive Officer 1980. He was appointed as a Commander (With seniority dated 1985). He served in HMCS Griffon as commanding officer 1987. He was appointed as Hon AdC to the Governor-General of Canada 1987. He was appointed as a Captain (N) (With seniority dated 1989). He served in Maritime Coastal Defence District Commander Newfoundland 1989. He served in Canadian Forces College as Director Staff Training Reserves 1989. He served in Maritime Coastal Defence District Commander Seaway 1992. He served in National Defence College 1993. He served as Central Region Coordinator 1995. He was appointed as a Commodore (With seniority dated 5/05/1997). He served in NAVRESHQ as Commander Naval Reserves 1997. He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral (With seniority dated 15/07/2000). He served in NDHQ as Chief of Reserves and Cadets 2000. (Transferred to the Supplementary Holding Reserve 2004). (He was reired.)
