In 1937 she was built for the R.C.M.P. In 1939 she was transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force. In 1939-1945 she was in service with the Royal Canadian Air Force. n 1946 she was owned by The Minister of Justice, Ottawa ON but turned over to Crown Assets and Disposal Corporation. In 1946 she was sold to Urbain King, Mont Tremblant QC.

Anecdotes
This vessel was a sister ship to the R.C.M.P. Detector. This vessel patrolled the east coast out of Dartmouth, NS. In 1947 this vessel was wrecked and declared a total loss. This vessel carried a Warrant to wear the Blue Ensign: 010.
