In 1955 this vessel was in service between Texada Island and Westview BC, carrying up to five cars. On December 21, 2018 this vessel was blown ashore in a severe windstorm. Eli Sim (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 22/12/2018) states that "This vessel drifted all the way across Maple Bay and ended up aground near Arbutus Point." Dave Sim (Email to Nauticapedia 15/01/2019) states that "The Atrevida dragged anchor on Dec 20, 2018 from Bird’s Eye Cove, Maple Bay, in a wind storm and fetched up on Arbutus Pt. Maple Bay at high water. Despite the efforts of a CCG inflatable this vesselgot stuck on the rocks. Jan 14 and 15 this vessel was dismantled on the beach and the debris picked up with a backhoe and crane clamshell, and placed on a barge for disposal."
