Anecdotes
In 1969 this vessel sank alongside in Vancouver and pulled down the La Dene with her but was later refloated and repaired. Bill McKay (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 31/03/2020) stated "The La Bonne (II) sank. It was Christmas and the fleet was in for the holidays. Supposedly a rock (from a gravel barge this vesselhad been towing) stuck in one of the sea cocks and didn't close properly. The day her and the La Dene were being pulled up, the Le Mars was arriving back from Mexico, so I understood. this vessel was beat up pretty bad after trying to retrieve a barge this vesselhad lost off the coast of Oregon. It was not a good day for VanTug!" Bill McKay (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 29/11/2021) stated "This vessel did sink Dec 20/2020 off Port Renfrew in 600 feet of water while being towed by the Spruce I, as I understand."
