Anecdotes
In 2016 this vessel was dry-berthed at Ladysmith BC. On November 7, 2022 this vessel capsized while spudding it’s barge in the Fraser River. All personnel made it off the tug safely, with no injuries reported. The tug remained attached to the barge via it’s tow line, but was submerged facing down with only it’s propeller above the water. The location was near the Deas Island Tunnel. The vessel owner developed a salvage plan almost immediately. Crews attached a line from the barge to the tug’s exposed propeller and moved the tug and barge out of the main channel of the river. The vessel owner moved a crane on one of the barges on site and salvage efforts began early the following day. By November 10th this vesselhad been successfully salvaged by her owners.
