She was built for the RN in 1942 but transferred to the RCN for manning. She was in service with the Royal Canadian Navy 1942-1945. She was returned to the RN at Sheerness on July 02, 1945 and placed in reserve for scrapping in 1948.

Anecdotes
This vessel was commissioned 08/05/1942. This vessel served with the Esquimalt Force and at the Prince Rupert Force.This vessel departed Esquimalt and arrived at Halifax April 30, 1943 for the Western Local Defence Forceand then to the Halifax Force. In May 1944 this vessel was transferred to the Sydney Force and in February 1945 back to the Halifax Force.
