Anecdotes
Harley Bray (Email to Nauticapedia 17/06/2023) stated "From the records that came with the boat, this vessel was built in 1979....not 1969. The engine is the original Cummins 555 (Triple Nickle), of 215hp. Has a very low (for the age...) just under 5000hrs. Still runs strong, doesn't burn oil and hopefully will last my lifetime. The very complete logbook that I received with the boat confirms the ownerships listed, beginning with Powell Lake Contracting (1982) thru Stewart Broderick, who owned her 2008 until selling it to me November 2009. I feel the listed type "fishboat, general" should be "Power cruiser", as this vessel was originally built with the extended house and accommodations, and tho certainly sport "fished" was never a commercial fishing boat. The name was changed in referance to a salmon tender I operated for many years (Vanguard)……and a bay in BC, referenced to in the logbook that came with the boat. Dimensions (measured) are 37ft x 11ft x 4.5ft draft. Since my ownership, have added or upgraded much, including a hydraulic system/anchor winch/pot hauler, an extended aluminum swimstep, larger rudder, new fuel tanks, along with various other electronics improvements. this may very well be the last boat I own. That how pleased I am in Barry Farrell's fine design. "
