In 1921-1939 she was owned by the Powell River Company Ltd., Vancouver BC. In 1939 she was taken over by the Canadian Government as H.M.C.S. Norsal. In 1945 she was returned to her owner Clarke Gibson, Vancouver BC. In 1945-1947 she was owned by Willis Dewees, Vancouver BC. In 1950-1973 she was owned by William C. Gibson, Vancouver BC. In 1973-1976 she was owned by Spuraway Holdings Ltd., Vancouver BC. In 1977-1983 she was owned by Kirkwood Charters Inc., Whonnock BC. (In 1984-1992 she was not listed in the Canada List of Shipping) In 1989 she was sold to Tom May and used for fish farm use.

Significance of Name	She was named for Norman and Sally Lang, the children of Norman Lang of the Powell River Co.

 

Anecdotes

In 1977-1983 this vessel was operated as a coastal charter vessel by Kirkwood Charters Inc., Whonnock BC. In 1989 this vessel was listed for sale at $400,000. Samantha Macgowan (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group November 6, 2014) stated "From what I could gather this vessel was on the run from the bailiffs. I was at Seaspan when this vessel was hauled out. They did a bunch of re-fastening and plank work in the bottom in the summer of 1987. The spikes went in to the frames a way to easy in my opinion. " In 1990 (some reports say 1992) this vessel sank in Hecate Strait BC on her way to Prince Rupert.
