Jonn Reid states "Ophir was commissioned by prominent Vancouver sportsman Ron Brown in 1964. This vessel would be launched on February 5th 1965, after being displayed at that years Vancouver boat show. Ophir debuted the iconic Grenfell “level riding lapstrake” line of dark blue hulled hardtop cruisers. Throughout the 1960s this vessel was often reputed to be the fastest boat of her size and type in Vancouver Harbour, achieving speeds in excess of 35kts. this vessel was found in 2012 and is currently undergoing an extensive complete restoration."
