Anecdotes
Jim Delancey (Email to Nauticapedia 01/05/2019) stated that "this vessel sank in October of 1956 in a storm about 25 miles off Yellowknife, NT. Fortunately, a sister tug also owned by the Yellowknife Transportation Company was in the area and managed to rescue all the crew. The Sandy Jane and the Richard E tugs were named after YT owner Earl Harcourt’s daughter and son."
