Anecdotes
Simon Bancroft (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 16/06/2018) states that "Sanmarkay is a 36 ft. canoe stern marconi ketch designed by William Garden and built for Sandy Megaw in 1953. The name is a contraction of the names of the owners and their daughter. The second owner was Ean Hay who sold her when he built Peregrine. I last saw the boat about twenty years ago at a boat show, in the hands of an owner who had found her in rough shape and brought her back. this perspective rendering from one of William Garden's books is on the lines of Sanmarkay or a sister."
