David Hamilton (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 23/06/2019) stated that "It was early 1984 being towed by the Seaspan Regent when the tow line holding down gear broke in a storm and the towline came down hard and hit the stern pin shearing the towline. this vessel was towed back to Vancouver in 2 pieces and welded back together."
