Anecdotes

This vessel was used for yarding logs at Powell River BC. On December 4, 1954 this vessel was sunk in a collision with the propeller of the Italian freighter, Giovanni Amendola in Georgia Strait, with the loss of three crew members: George Crooks; Captain George Ilott; and Gray LeVae. The only survivor was the Captain's 12 year old son Fred Ilott who was found the next morning on Savary lsland. The freighter had wanted the assistance of a pilot when this vesselbegan to drag her anchor offshore that caused the tug to venture out- and having dropped the pilot suffered the mishap.
