Anecdotes
During the Second World War this vesselserved as a passenger cargo vessel in the South Pacific. On April 19, 1970 this vessel sank 10 miles off Cape Breton Island NS Canada with a loss of all eight hands. Chaleur Bay Fisheries was a company created by Robert Karliner and his wife and sponsored by Anglo British Columbia Packing Co. Ltd to take the vessel to the East Coast herring fishery.
