This vessel was sponsored by Mrs. Buda Brown, MLA. At the launching the bottle of champagne took several tries before it finally broke. The inaugural sailings of the Tsawwassen was on June 15th, 1960. Jim Thorne (Email to Nauticapedia 19/01/2025 stated "That logo on the side was for the 1871-1971 Centennial of BC’s Confederation with Canada (three ‘C’s joined at the hip). All (or at least most) of the BC Ferries fleet sported this logo in 1971." |
