Anecdotes
In 1945 this vessel was built as the H.M.C.S. Ash Lake, completed but never commissoned as a Canadian Naval Minesweeper, Lake Class (Admiralty - Type). This vessel was converted for hydrographic work in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. In 1962 this vessel was transferred to the Great Lakes as a hydrographic training vessel. This vessel later reurned to survey work before being retired in 1962.
