In 1941 this vessel was seized from her Japanese owners by the Canadian Government. In 1942 her ownership transferred to His Majesty the King. In 1943 this vessel was tender to H.M.C.S. Givenchy II for patrol duties at Esquimalt BC. In 1944 this vessel was tender to H.M.C.S. Chatham.
