He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1960. In 1960 he served in HMCS Carleton for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1963). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1965). In 1965 he served in HMCS Carleton(He was released.)
